Published by Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation as part of the Corpus Ponderum Antiquorum et Islamicorum (CPAI) project directed by Professor Dr. Oğuz Tekin representing TEBE, The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Collection in the Pera Museum, Part 2: Late Roman and Byzantine Weights presents 742 Late Roman and Byzantine weights in the Foundation collection to researchers. Grouped under commercial weights, coin weights, weights made of coins, disc-shaped weights, vessel-shaped weights, and glass weights, these artifacts offer new information for researchers about the Byzantine economic system from the 3rd century to the 13th. Continuing the series, a new volume covering approximately 5000 weights from ancient Mesopotamia, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods, all registered with the collection, is forthcoming.
